That is pretty easy to understand, the continuous job has an interval in which it is supposed to complete x number of copies and it didn't. The other type is the one that has me confused. Backup copy interval problems, how to fix??
By foggy » wed oct 21, 2015 12:52 pm. Hi tom, yes you need to wait, backup copy job should sync the required data during the next sync interval. In 2020 we got a license for veeam backup starter and we renewed it in 2021.
Now it's almost time for renewal again. My old invoice and the veeam portal (when i checked earlier this week) both showed that i'm set up to auto renew later this month for about the same price i. Our method for onboarding anyone is seed first, copy data to our repository, map the backup copy jobs, and let it sync up.
This will only send the change blocks from when the seed stopped to when it started which should much less than what you are trying to send now and should work with a normal interval. Veeam backup & replication creates a gfs full backup even if the gfs full backup creation is scheduled when the backup copy interval is not finished. On the day when the gfs full backup must be created, veeam backup & replication shows a warning that the current backup copy interval will be completed, completes the interval, and starts a new one.
So we use the 'backup copy job' to send another backup over to another building on our site. Our main backup starts at 10pm each night (with an incremental taking under 2hrs). Our copy interval is set at '1 day starting at 00:00'.
However, i find that quite often, individual vm backups fail due to 'not completing within the copy interval'. Copy interval has expired incremental copy was not processed. The problem i am experiencing with this is that i use rotating disks for offsite backup changed each week.
When a new disk is added it takes more that a day to finish the copy job hence it fails. I then have to force it to run (sometimes more than once). The vms are on a daily back cycle and i have configured the backupcopy period at 1 day starting at a time just before the time of the first vm backup.
We only have a limit wan link (40mbs) but this was suffice for the replication job i used before trialing backup copy. Size of backup copy job is reported as transfered 40. 1gb. Copy interval has expired initial copy did not complete, and will resume on the next copy interval the file is approximately 1. 4 tb but it does not seem to finish.
I just moved the time interval to copy every 30 day starting at 5:00 am and still does not complete. No restore points currently my other smaller jobs copy fine. Set retention to 5.
In the periodic copy mode, veeam backup & replication copies restore points once in an interval specified in backup copy job settings. This interval is also known as backup copy interval. For more information, see backup copy intervals.
