Hey guys, playing around with my d3200 and i've got a few questions. First, there is no setting for mirror lock up in the set up menu, just a cleaning option. Is the only option live view?
It's easy to check. Put the camera in m exposure mode, and remove the lens. Push the lv button.
The mirror will be seen to flip up. Fire it (it will still fire with no lens in m mode). If the mirror does not flip down, you're in luck.
That means that in lv mode, you're essentially mirrorless, and need not use edm. To lower mirror, turn camera off. Than i press my shutter button and it takes picture, but lcd screen turns black.
I press my shutterbutton again and it says: 'mirror raised' i had to. This option is grayed out and i can't figure out why.
I need to clean the sensor because there is a speck of dust on it. I followed the instructions and turned the camera off, removed the lens, turned the camera back on and went to setup to lock the mirror up but it is still grayed out. The battery has a full charge too.
Important shoot and my nikon d610 camera broke. This is how i fixed it. Read d3200 reference manual (), page 33:
Ok so you have a d3100 and you want to take some low light or slow shutter speed photos but your still getting vibration from the mirror flying around in sid. Mirror lockup at the d3200. By andi1888 ยป fri aug 16, 2013 6:32 pm.
Hi, is it possible to implement a mirror lockup function in the d3200 like in the upper generations (5100, 7000 etc)? I'm new to the d200 and although it has a mirror lock up function, it seems to be used only for getting the mirror out of the way when cleaning the sensor. Short of using flash and a higher shutter speed, is there anything i can do to avoid shake at these magnifications?
In d3300 there is no mirror lock up. Further when shooting still (in contrast to video) in live view, the sequence is. The nikon d3200 doesn't do mirror lock up.
Now this bothers me because for solar and lunar i shoot stills and with the wireless remote can shoot continuous at a pretty reasonable rate but with the vibration from the mirror i can't do that. Mirror lock up will not aid sharp focus. It is a way to reduce the vibration in the camera so that your shots do not suffer blurriness due to camera shake.
It is most commonly used in macro work or in low light situations (eg. In most normal circumstances there is no need to use mirror lock up when using a tripod. It most certainly has mirror lock up.
I don't know what you guys were complaining about. Unless i'm a fool, my d80 has on the setup menu, fourth option down. Mirror lock up through the menus like that is to allow you to clean the sensor and also opens the shutter as well.
Paritcularly on macro photographs a mirror lock up mode during the exposure which eliminates the movement of the mirror during the exposure can be vert useful. This is what you're after i guess and sadly the d3100 doesn't have this. Nikon d4 / nikon d4s;
